The client for this project has owned the land since 2000.  With the help of her two teenage daughters, she decided to finally undertake to build the chalet she and her late husband had always dreamed they would.  She approached RC to design a three-bedroom, 2 1/2 bath home that will seamlessly blend into the landscape and provide a rural refuge for her and her family.  The home will have a geothermal radiant heating and cooling system and a highly insulated thermal envelope.  It will be clad in locally sourced eastern white cedar planks that will silver with time and blend with the forest.  The home is nestled into the existing slope of the mountain and will have a two-story living space that looks out to the lake through a mature forest of hemlocks, spruce, maple, and birch trees.‍

Robitaille.Curtis is the architect and the landscape architect for this project.
