For this spectacular three-acre property along the shores of pristine Lac des Écorces in Barkmere, QC, RobitailleCurtis is designing the overall site master plan, including the main house, boat house, two-car garage, as well as a path system, two docks, and an exterior play area.

The chalet will be nestled into the sloping wooded site, and is being carefully designed to blend with the existing landscape.  To minimize the home’s carbon footprint, the chalet will make use of a geothermal heating system, a photovoltaic array, a highly insulated thermal envelope, and locally sourced & manufactured building materials.

The 'L'-shaped multi-level form with shed roofs and deep eaves defines a rustic north-facing woodland entry court that makes use of significant grade change to draw occupants through the house and down the slope to splendid views of Lac des Écorces.
